Welcome to Strafford High School!

Education at Strafford High School is designed to meet the needs of each individual student.  We believe that it is our responsibility to emphasize student learning in academics and in career preparation.  The school has developed a program of studies which includes basic skills, vocational preparatory and college preparatory courses.

SHS is known for good facilities as well as a community that supports the school and the students.  We are proud of the facilities at Strafford including a new 550 seat auditorium. The high school is made up of 400 students and 34 faculty members. We have a great student body and a supportive faculty and staff. Our students are strong competitors on both athletic and academic teams, and our award-winning fine arts department is well known in the area.

Our curriculum is solid and always a work in progress.  We offer a number of dual credit courses as well as virtual classes from colleges like Missouri State University and Central Methodist University.  We are excited to be in the process of becoming an A+ designated school.  The graduating class of 2012 will be the first to benefit from this program which we are excited to be a part of.

STRAFFORD HIGH SCHOOL

We are off to a super start this year at Strafford High School.  We are going to try and improve on our communication this year and send out weekly emails.  These emails will come from the high school office as well as from individual classroom teachers.  We will try to send these emails on Friday afternoons and keep parents informed on things going on at school and in classes.

I would like to encourage all parents to use the parent portal and keep up with your student’s information available.  We are also trying to improve our school website so please check this regularly.  There is a good calendar on the website that has many activities and important dates posted.

If you ever have any questions about the high school, please feel free to contact me at 736-7000 extension 1400.  You can also email me at bretts@straffordschools.net.  We are looking forward to a great year.
